The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

Violations found: C — refried beans must be held at 135 degrees or higher, corrected; NC/R — ice scoops must be stored in manner to protect in drink area, corrected; NC — store wiping cloths in sanitizing solution between uses, corrected; NC — need quat sanitizing test strips, to be corrected by July 1; NC/R — finish repairing walls in kitchen, to be corrected by July 15; NC — need to clean walls, floor, corners, coving to remove build-up of debris and grime, clean equipment handles, to be corrected by Sept. 1.

Violations found: NC/R — ice build-up at left bottom of walk-in freezer and starting on right side of freezer door, gap at bottom of loading dock door, to be corrected by Sept. 1.

Violations found: C/R — protect food contact surface/card board circles from contamination of top of oven, also surfaces touched with food-handling gloves and then touching food need to be sanitized, clean surfaces, corrected.
