Final weekend for ‘The Rainmaker’

INDIANAPOLIS — Buck Creek Players and Director Tim Spradlin present “The Rainmaker” through Aug. 12 at the Buck Creek Playhouse, 11150 Southeastern Ave. At the height of a drought in the Depression-era west, Lizzie Curry’s father and two brothers worry as much about her potential future as an old maid as they do about their dying cattle. Suddenly, a roguish, sweet-talking man rolls into town claiming to be a “rainmaker.” He promises — for $100 — to bring rain turning his magic on the weather and on Lizzie. The show features local actor Corey Yeaman as File, a law enforcement officer. For more information and show times, visit buckcreekplayers.com or call 317-862-2270.
