To the editor:
Perhaps I missed it, but after re-reading the June 6 edition of the Daily Reporter three times, I could find no mention at all of D-Day. Many of those who stormed the beaches that day knew they would perish as soon as the landing craft doors opened … not to mention the others who sacrificed their lives. Maybe there wasn’t enough space for an article but when I saw three paragraphs about the Miss America pageant canceling the swimsuit portion, I knew the answer to my question.
