GREENFIELD — The first installment of property taxes are due May 10 at the Hancock County Treasurer’s Office at the courthouse annex, 111 American Legion Place, Suite 205, Greenfield.
The office is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. The office will be closed on Tuesday for Election Day.
Taxes can be paid in the office with a check, cash or credit/debit card. They can also be dropped off at the dropbox in front of the annex through midnight May 10.
To pay online with a credit or debit card, log on to hancockcoingov.org and go to the Tax Payment button. The credit card company charges a fee — 2.75 percent or $3.95 — for paying online.
Tax payments may also be mailed to the office. The envelope must be postmarked by May 10. Any postmark after May 10 will receive a penalty.
