NEW PALESTINE — On March 4, music teacher Carol Rosenthal and her students presented their second music recital of the school year at Zion Lutheran Church, New Palestine.
Performers played alone and in small ensembles on piano and organ. Parents joined in the music-making, too.
Afterwards, parents provided creative snacks reflecting the music of the recital, including Irish princess punch, cakes and cookies; African adventure cookies; and sailboat fruit snacks.
Students Audra Bloomer and Katie Gunn recently played piano solos in the Indiana State School Music Association’s district assessments. Audra received a Gold rating with a perfect score in Group IV. Katie received a Gold rating with a perfect score in Group I, advancing to state assessments where she received a Gold “With Distinction” rating with another perfect score.
