Local students earn college honors

University of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — The University of Indianapolis has published its list of students who made the most recent dean’s list or honor roll. Honor roll students who achieved a minimum 3.4 grade-point average include Addison Clouse from Cumberland; Oliver Mast from Fortville; Allison Beechboard, Erik Cliburn, Regan Elsea, Storm Hunt, Shyanne Milne, Makayla Morris, Lucas Rice and Bryce Robertson from Greenfield; Mikala Gillespie and Miles Wayer from McCordsville; and Brianna Brechbuhl, Shelby Lannan, Kaylin McMurray, Jamie Morris and Sarah Rose from New Palestine. Dean’s list honorees who achieved a minimum grade-point average of 3.7 include Lauren Bryant, Emily Crafton, Hannah Edwards, Tate Hall, Renee Hilkene, Rachel Irbe, Kaitlin McDonald, Alex McMillan, Christina Riley and Samantha Scheiter from Greenfield; Jorge Fonseca from McCordsville; Alie Brown, Alexandra Collier, Brittany Duncan, Kaylee Kropp, Kora Kropp, Brady Walden, Laura Walden, and Cassidy Wilhelm from New Palestine; and Kaycee Ruble from Wilkinson.

DePauw University

GREENCASTLE — More than 766 students were named to the fall 2017 dean’s list at DePauw University. The dean’s list recognizes students who achieve a semester grade point-average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The following local students made the list: Shelby Hanes (Fortville); Gabriel Eckler, Michael Sosnowski and Benton Turner (Greenfield); Nicholas Casey, Michael Hale, Blake Miller and Emily Troyer (McCordsville); Sarah Pearson and Samuel Voelz (New Palestine). Founded in 1837, DePauw University is a top-ranked private liberal arts university located in Greencastle.

Cedarville University

CEDARVILLE, Ohio — Juliann Watson of Greenfield was named to the Cedarville University dean’s list for fall 2017. This recognition requires the student to have a 3.5 grade-point average or higher for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours. Cedarville University, located between Dayton and Columbus, Ohio, is an accredited Baptist institution with an enrollment of 3,963 undergraduate, graduate and online students in more than 150 areas of study.

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater

WHITEWATER, Wis. — Austin Wienke from McCordsville earned a degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at the winter 2017 commencement. Wienke graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in information technology. Winter commencement was conducted in Kachel Fieldhouse, where 861 students received their degrees from the colleges of Arts and Communication, Business and Economics, Education and Professional Studies, Letters and Sciences and the School of Graduate Studies.
