NEW CASTLE
Sonya Lynn (Chamberlin) Bertram, 48, passed away suddenly from an unexpected illness at the Neuro Intensive Care Unit at Methodist Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Sonya was born September 22, 1969 in Anderson, Indiana to Steve and Cathy (Hall) Chamberlin. She was raised in New Castle, where she attended St. Anne’s Catholic School and was a 1988 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. She worked at Monroe Custom Bodies in Mt. Comfort for many years, but her most important job was being a mom to her three boys, James, Steven and John. She considered this her most important role of her life.
Sonya was a hard worker in every area of her life. She was a very giving person. She continued to give after her death by being a life saving organ donor. She would sacrifice for anyone who was in need, often going without, herself.
Family meant everything to her. Along with her boys, she loved spending time with her nieces and nephews.
Sonya is survived by: her mother, Cathy of New Castle; her fiance, Clinton “Keith” Anderson; and sons James and John Bertram of Morristown and Steven Bertram and stepdaughter, Clare Hicks, both of New Castle; stepchildren Felicia, Brandie, and Josef Anderson of Kentucky; her brother, David Chamberlin, sister, Abby (James) Coatie, Sister Rosanna Fox (fiance, Wesley Young), grandmother, Neva Sears, all of New Castle, nieces and nephews; Kelly, Jordan, Jasmine, Darian, Javon, Jarel, Ella, Phillip, Dominic, Audrie, August, Weston, Brielle, and her fur babies; Miss Kitty, Benedict, Gracie and Thor.
She was preceded in death by her father, Steve, paternal grandfather, John Chamberlin, maternal grandparents, Arthur and Cecil Hall and Mable Maxwell, and her sister-in-law Linda Chamberlin.
Family and friends, and others whose lives Sonya influenced and touched are invited to attend the viewing at Macer-Hall Funeral Home, 600 S. Main St. in New Castle on Monday December 18, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00P.M.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday December 18, 2017 at the funeral home with Evangelist Sandy Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery 621 S. State St. in Greenfield, Indiana.
