Patsy Anne (O’Shields) Sell Smith, 74, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017, at her residence. She was born on April 30, 1943, in Ranger, Tx., as the daughter of Jack and Inez (Ferguson) O’Shields.

She married Kenneth Sell on May 11, 1960, in Big Spring, Tx.

Patsy was a teller for Greenfield Banking for several years before working as a librarian at the Hancock County Public Library in New Palestine. She was a member of Brandywine Community Church. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, camping, fishing, and hiking. She was also a dog lover and spoiler to her two beloved dogs, Cocoa and Midnight.

Patsy is survived by her father, Jack O’Shields of Mexia, Tx.; sons, Russell Sell of Lubbock, Tx. and Tony Sell of Greenfield; daughters Janice K. and Vicki L. Sell of Greenfield; brother, Charles O’Shields of Mineral Wells, Tx.; grandchildren, Natasha, Mitchell, Anthony, Kenneth, and Tara; and great-grandchildren Brayden, Kayden and Luna.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Inez O’Shields; husband, Kenneth Sell; son, David J. Sell; brother, Calvin W. O’Shields; and grandson, Travis L. Whitaker.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 15, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 16, at the mortuary. Pastor Matt Wickham will be officiating. A private family burial will take place at Philadelphia Cemetery in Greenfield.

In lieu of flowers, Pasty had requested memorial contributions be made to the Haiti Water Project, 1551 E. New Rd, Greenfield, IN 46140 or Haiti Orphanage, 1551 E. New Rd, Greenfield, IN 46140 or envelopes will be available at the mortuary. These organizations were very near to her heart.
