New Palestine girls lead HHC standings
The New Palestine girls basketball team remains unbeaten in the Hoosier Heritage Conference this season with one more league game to go.
The Dragons, who are 6-0 in the HHC and 10-4 overall, will host Pendleton Heights at 1:30 p.m. Saturday for a chance at an outright HHC championship. The Pendleton Heights Arabians are 5-0 in the HHC, second behind New Palestine, and 10-3 overall.
New Palestine rode a nine-game winning streak after opening the year 1-3. The Dragons’ winning streak ended at the Greensburg Tournament on Tuesday when they lost to host Greensburg 47-39 in the championship game.

IHSAA Board of Directors appointed
Three high school administrators were re‐elected and three others were newly appointed to the IHSAA Board of Directors this month. Each member school’s principal had the opportunity to vote electronically for the candidates running for seats in their respective district. The open seats are apportioned geographically and by school size.
Re‐elected to serve a new three‐year term beginning July 1, 2017 were:
• Nathan Dean, athletics director, Jimtown — District I, Class A.
• Jim Brown, athletics director, Fishers — District II, Class 4A.
• Mike Whitten, principal, Boonville — District III, Class 3A.
Elected to serve a three‐year term beginning July 1, 2017:
• David Amor, athletics director, LaCrosse — District I, Class A.
• Matt Martin, athletics director, Knightstown — District II, Class 2A.
• Jeff Doyle, principal, Barr‐Reeve — District III, Class A.
The IHSAA is governed by its legislative body, the Board of Directors. Composed of 19 individuals elected by member school principals from three legislative districts, they serve staggered three‐year terms. The Board of Directors meets annually with the responsibility of establishing the Association’s By‐Laws and regulations.
