Richard William (Dick) Johnson Jr., 80, of Kokomo, passed away on Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, in Winter Haven, Fla. He was born on March 17, 1935, in Hamilton, Ohio, to the late Richard William and Esther (Craig) Johnson.
On March 30, 1957, he married Janice R. Orsburn. They later divorced and she preceded him in death. On June 30, 1985, he married Peggy (Hill) Wickliff, who survives.
Richard graduated from Eastern High School in 1953. He served four years in the Coast Guard based in Norfolk, Va. He retired from Delco Electronics where he worked as a millwright. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Issac Walton League, and the American Legion. He was an avid fisherman and bowler.
Richard is survived by three children, Stephen C. Johnson, Diane (Joe) Dibble and David (companion, Carey Howerton) Johnson; four stepchildren, Karen Haden, Bruce Wickliff, Diane (Rudy) Pedraza, and Denise (Al) Craig; grandchildren, Kent (Beth) Bickel, Kasey Bickel, Magie Johnson, Stephanie Jarrett, Angela (Dwayne) McClain, Amanda (Billy) Niepert, Jenson Pedraza, Joseph Pedraza, Jessica (Brian) Bly, Sarah Craig, Katelyn (Logan) Workman, Kyle Wickliff, and Stacie Wickliff; 15 great- grandchildren and sisters, Marion Montgomery and Ruth Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Johnson; one stepdaughter and two grandsons.
The family offered visiting hours from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan 31, 2016 and 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016. The funeral service for Richard was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, at Ellers Mortuary Webster St Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo, with Pastor Will Jewsbury officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown, Ind.
