INDIANAPOLIS — Tax season is underway, and the Indiana Department of Revenue and the Internal Revenue Service has begun processing 2016 tax returns.
The departments are encouraging residents to use electronic filing to expedite the process. Nearly two million Hoosier tax filers qualify to file their federal and state income taxes online for free. Visit freefile.dor.in.gov to see if you qualify.

The deadline to file taxes is April 18.
