Carol F. Turner, 71, of Yorktown passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at Community Hospital North, Indianapolis. She was born Feb. 19, 1944, in Kinston, N.C., to the late Lemuel and Mahalia (Twiddy) Butler.
Carol was a 1962 graduate of Charlottesville High School. She married Jerry R. Turner on May 23, 1964. She worked in the Ball State Environmental Services for 30 years, prior to her retirement in 2005. Carol was active in her church, UM Women, Wednesday AM Bible Study and Sunday school. She was a member of the Red Bud Quilting club, and loved her grandkids.
She is survived by daughters, Marianne (Tim) Larsen of Fairfield, Ohio, Melissa Clauson of Springfield, Ill. and Melanie Turner of Muncie; brothers, Richard Butler of Indianapolis, Jim Butler of Greenfield and Ralph Butler of Indianapolis; sisters, Cindy (Larry) Gray of New Palestine and Jeanne Lennon of Greenfield and grandkids, Heidi, Brett, Amberleigh, Mandy, Shelby, and Travis.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Turner in 2008 and sister, Jane Butler.
Friends may call 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Monday Jan. 25, 2016, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Burial immediately following at Park Cemetery, Greenfield.
