Ernest Paul “Chief” “Beaver” “Ern” Carnes, 72, of Pendleton, died December 31, 2015. He was a US Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his former wife, Phyllis Elaine (Bennett) Carnes; children, Paula Jill (Chip Myers) Carnes, Todd Douglas Carnes and Christopher Shawn (Lisa Leann) Carnes; eight grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; stepson, Hill (Denise) Readnour and a sister, Ann Julane Carnes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Newell and Opal Fern (McCreery) Carnes and wife, Arlene Carnes.
Visitation was held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, at. Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton. Services and burial were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, at Marion National Cemetery with Reverend Margie Vandergraff officiating and included military honors.
