James J. “Joe” Prickett, 86, of Fortville, died Friday, Dec. 11, 2015. He was born on April 10, 1929, in Marion County, Ind., to the late William H. and Trilla (Lemons) Prickett. Joe was a tank driver in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
Joe is survived by wife, W. Jean (McClarnon) Prickett, whom he married July 14, 1951; sons, Steven J. (Marie) Prickett of Alexandria, Ky. and Robert W. Prickett of Fortville and daughter, Donna (Marvin) Terrell of Fortville; 10 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Gladys Garner, Naomi Lyle, Martha Olvey and Ruth Underhill and a son-in-law.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015, at the Fortville Church of the Nazarene. A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, at the church with Pastor Phil Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
