Bernice Henrietta Wilkie, 95 of Greenfield, formally of Owatonna, Minn., was united with her Lord on Dec. 3, 2015. She passed away peacefully at Springhurst Health Campus (Greenfield). She was born Jan. 24, 1920, in Steele County, Min., the daughter of Robert and Elsie (Mussman) Grunklee.
Bernice married Ralph Wilkie on Sept. 26, 1940, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Havana Township. They were married for 65 years. They lived in the Owatonna area until 1945, and then moved to Waltham, Minn., where they farmed until 2000. In 2000, they moved back to Owatonna where Ralph died on Oct. 14, 2005. In 2008, Bernice moved to Indianapolis, to be near her son.
Bernice is survived by her sons, Gary (Sheryl) Wilkie of Greenfield and Roger (Mary Kay) Wilkie of New Braunfels, Texas; her grandchildren, Jodi (Ken) Havranek of Austin, Texas, Tamara (Brett) Wilkie-Vana of Ogden, Utah , Kim (Scott) House of San Antonio, Texas, Tyler Wilkie (Danielle) of Fortville, Lyndsey (Eric Dickman) Wilkie of New Braunfels, Texas; 11 great- grandchildren; sister, Lois Hunt of Owatonna and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, (Phyllis Groby and Gladys Ringhofer) and two infant brothers .
The funeral service was held Dec. 10, 2015, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Rev. Kirk Griebel officiating. Visitation was at the church one hour before the funeral. Interment was at St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
