Gerald Richard Johnson, 70, of Rushville, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015. He was born Oct. 18, 1945, in Greenfield, the son of William B. Johnson and Mildred V. (Gates) Ross. He was an Army veteran, serving during Vietnam.
Gerald is survived by his wife, of 46 years, Lela Louise Raikes; sons, Jesse C. (Andrea) Johnson, of Greenfield, and Bryan E. (Angie) Johnson; brothers, Bob (Martina) Johnson, of Indianapolis, and John (Beverly) Eastes, of Greenfield; sisters, Mary Dairy of Tallahassee, Fla. and Rosie (Lewis) Cochran, New Whiteland and a stepgranddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation was from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown. Funeral services were held 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at the funeral home. Interment was at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown, with military rites conducted by the local military committee.
