Cathern (Bray) Viles, 86, formerly of the Fortville and Greenfield areas, passed from this life into glory on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015.
Cathern spent many years serving the Fortville and surrounding areas as the proprietor of Bray’s Carpet Service formerly located on Broadway St. in Fortville. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling the world as well as serving the local community through the Hancock County Senior Services in Greenfield. In 2012, she was awarded one of three Volunteer of the Year recognitions. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. We wish “Harley Mama” one last great ride.
She is survived by her son, Roland (Sallie) of Shawnee, Kan. and daughter Cathy (Scott) Muir of Fortville and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Johnny, Roy and Carl; as well as her former husbands, Charles Bray and Voler Viles, both of Fortville.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at Haven Baptist Church, Kansas City, KS.
