HANCOCK COUNTY — The Hancock County Adult Literacy Coalition is offering the Peg Strickland Annual Scholarship to assist students who passed a High School Equivalency test (formerly known as the GED) through the Hancock Learning Center and choose to pursue a post-secondary education.
Applicants must be a resident of Hancock County, have been officially enrolled in the Hancock County Learning Center during the past five years, have received an HSE as a result of instruction there and have been accepted into an accredited college, university or technical training program.
Funds from this scholarship may be used for tuition, fees, books, equipment that reasonably enables the recipient to further educational/training goals.
Applications are available at the learning center, 840 S. State St., Greenfield. Forms may also be requested by emailing [email protected].
Applications should be completed fully and either dropped off at the center or mailed to the Hancock County Adult Literacy Coalition, c/o Mary Lynn Burrows, Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield, 46140.
The deadline is July 15. The recipient will be notified by July 29.
