GREENFIELD — Police are seeking the public’s help finding a man they said molested a teenage girl and took photos of her partially clothed body while she was staying at his home.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of David Cuautle, 41, of Greenfield, who faces felony charges of child molest, child exploitation and possession of child pornography, according to court documents.
The victim told her mother the incident occurred while she was sleeping at a friend’s house last month. The girl said her friend’s father touched her inappropriately while she was lying on the family’s couch.
She was afraid and pretended to be asleep during the assault, court documents state.
The girl told investigators she believes Cuautle took pictures of her because she kept seeing a camera flash, according to police reports.
Search warrants were issued for Cuautle’s Greenfield home in the 400 block of West South Street on April 23. Police confiscated several electronics, including Cuautle’s cellphone. Five inappropriate photographs of a child wearing the same pajamas as the victim were found on Cuautle’s cellphone, police reported.
Cuautle faces two counts of child molesting, four counts of child exploitation and one count of possession of child pornography.
If convicted, he would face up to 118½ years in prison and up to $80,000 in fines. A judge set Cuautle’s bond at $10,000 cash, according to court records.
