HANCOCK COUNTY – A local girl scout troop recently met with a guest speaker from Purdue University who is studying for her master’s degree in engineering/technology teacher education. Speaker Rachel Smith brought a 3-D printer, and the troop was able to watch as it created a plastic charm for each student.
Smith also showed a video to the troop about the different jobs these printers can accomplish.
Troop members were able to earn their inventor patch while waiting for the printer to finish the charms, made from biodegradable corn products.
