HANCOCK COUNTY — Relay for Life is the world’s largest fundraising event to fight cancer, and Brooke Melton, Event Chair for Relay of Life of Greenfield, recently spoke to Kiwanis about the local June 12 and 13 event.
The Greenfield event will take place at 6 p.m. at the football field of Greenfield-Central High School starting June 12, with teams taking turns walking on the track. Each team will have pledges of support or contributions. The Relay will end on Saturday at noon. The relay symbolizes the battle waged around the clock by those facing cancer.
All funds raised go toward cancer research, education and prevention and free information and services.
