Position: Pitcher/DH

Stats: In leading the Marauders to their first Hoosier Heritage Conference win of the season, 9-5 against Pendleton Heights, Spears pitched a complete game, with 11 strikeouts and four earned runs. At the plate, he went 2-for-3 with two doubles a walk in the Game 1 victory of the Friday night doubleheader.

Games on the move

Friday’s scheduled doubleheader between Pendleton Heights and Greenfield-Central was postponed to today. The Hoosier Heritage Conference twin bill will begin at 2 p.m. at Greenfield-Central. The junior varsity portion will be played today at New Palestine beginning at 10 a.m.

The Cougars’ game this Monday originally scheduled at Beech Grove has been moved to Greenfield-Central, 6 p.m.

Greenfield-Central’s home game against Connersville has been moved from May 5 to April 22.

Stats: Continuing her strong start to the season, the Indiana State University commit went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs against New Castle on Friday. Through three games, Lorsung is 11-for-13 with two home runs and 11 RBIs.

Greenfield-Central’s doubleheader against visiting Warren Central today has been changed from a 10 a.m. start to a noon start.

Something for the kids

The Pepsi Pitch, Hit & Run program will be at 2 p.m. today at Brandywine Park in Greenfield. The program is free for boys and girls ages 7 to 14. Registrations will be accepted on site.

Boys and girls are divided into four age divisions — 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 — and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including team championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2015 MLB All-Star Game.
