CUMBERLAND — It appears the fate of the historic St. John United Church of Christ in Cumberland will not be settled anytime soon.
The church is in danger of being knocked down should the sale of its land go through and zoning for a gas station is approved.
A rezoning hearing, a prelude to the demolition, was set to take place Wednesday. However, Indianapolis City-County Councilor Ben Hunter requested another continuance on the issue, this time 30 days.
The hearing has been rescheduled for April 15.
