GREENFIELD — American Legion Auxiliary Unit 119 recently conducted its annual Americanism Program at the Hancock County Public Library.
The contest was for area elementary school children and had a total of 31 entries for the Grades K-2 coloring contest and 180 entries for Grades 3 through 8.
The title for this year’s essay was “What Freedom Means to My Family.”
The winners for seventh and eighth grade were Nolan Jones of St. Michael School (first); Daniel Joven of St. Michael School (second); Bryce Johnson of St. Michael School (third) and Gregory Flora of St. Michael School (fourth).
The winners for fifth and sixth grade were Mackenzie Willett of St. Michael School (first); Lilly Combs of St. Michael School (second); Ethan Lovins of St. Michael School (third); and Chris Hays of St. Michael School (fourth).
The winners for third and fourth grade were Reagan Crouch of Maxwell Intermediate School (first); Lauren Pfeiffer of Weston Elementary (second); Jorja Houston of Harris Elementary (third); Addison May of Harris Elementary (fourth).
Coloring Contest winners for second grade were Ella Laswell of St. Michael School (first); Frank Titus of St. Michael School (second); Luke Sitzman of St. Michael School (third); and Danica Smith St. Michael School (fourth).
