Frances Louise Edwards, 88, of Greenfield, passed away March 13, 2015, peacefully at Golden Living Center-Brandywine. She was born Jan. 23, 1927, in Warren County, Tennessee, near Rock Island and was the daughter of Norman and Hattie Couch.
She was employed in the office of Dr. John J. Farrell in Greenfield until her retirement in 1992. Louise was a member of the Bradley United Methodist Church, Psi lota Xi sorority and the Order of Eastern Star #101.
Louise enjoyed reading, collecting antiques, and watching sports. The kids in her neighborhood rewarded her with the title, "The Cookie Lady," for the many batches of chocolate chip cookies she generously shared with them.
She had a keen interest in her family's history and enjoyed genealogy.
Louise is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael (Debra) Edwards of Maryville, Tennessee, Philip (Mary Ann) Edwards of Indianapolis, Rob Edwards, and John (Cindy) Edwards of Fishers; grandsons Brett (Lori) Edwards, Tory Edwards, Skylar Edwards and Nicholas Edwards; great-grandsons Graham and Keegan Edwards; sisters Helen (Neal) Engleking of Salem, Gladys (John) Reeves of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Ann (Gene) Bricker of Wilkinson, Laura Sexton of Indianapolis, and Linda (Warner) Monroe of Greenfield; brothers Lyman (Jo Ann) Couch and Bill (Linda) Couch both, of Greenfield.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Edwards, whom she married Oct. 25, 1945; sister Marie Burkhart and brother George Couch, both of Greenfield.
The visitation will be from 11 a.m., until time of service on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at the mortuary. Services will be held at 1 p.m. at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, Shangrila Chapel, with the Rev. David Scifres of Bradley United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
