Charles Ellis Hatcher, 60, of Paul H. Beam Rd., formerly of New Palestine, Indiana, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at his residence. He was born on Dec. 18, 1954, in Sullivan County, Tennessee, to Betty Joeann Qualls Redman of Cherryville and the late Kenneth Nathan Hatcher.
Charles was a proud Vietnam Veteran of the Marine Corps. He previously owned Navajo Painting and worked alongside his brothers in the construction business. His latest place of employment was at Endo Pharmaceuticals in Charlotte working in the maintenance department. Charles also had his real estate license.
He was a devoted Christian and family man. He enjoyed camping, riding motorcycles, wrestling, and swimming. Charles was a very talented man and was loved by so many.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Donna Gene Carrier Hatcher; sons Jeremy Ray (Jennifer) Hatcher of Lincolnton, Scott Matthew (Monica) Hatcher of Cherryville, and Michael "Fred" Leon (Christina) Hatcher of Hickory; brothers Keith Alan Hatcher of Cherryville and Kirk Anthony Hatcher of Franklin, Indiana; grandchildren Michael Walsh, Jeremy Ray Hatcher Jr., Scott Anthony Hatcher, William Allen Hatcher, Mikaela Hatcher, Zavier Hatcher, Christima Stroupe, Hayley Hatcher, and Travis Hatcher; and great-grandchildren Emma Hatcher and Leland Fry.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother William "Billy" Albert Redman, Jr.
The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015, at Carpenter's Funeral & Cremation Services Cherryville, North Carolina. Additional visitation will take place from 11-1 p.m. on Monday March 16, 2015 at Hendryx Mortuary, New Palestine Chapel. A committal service will follow at New Palestine Cemetery.
