Phillip Edward Shirley, 62, of Ladson, South Carolina, passed away Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. Phillip was born Aug. 28, 1952, in Greenfield, the son of Edward Lee Shirley and Juanita June Rychman Shirley
He was a truck driver. He was president of the Augusta Lions Club, a former deacon at Wildwood Christian Church, and a member of New Beginnings Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Shirley of Ladson; father Edward Shirley of Sumter; stepdaughter Emilee (William) Cox-Race of Lake City; brothers Jeffrey (Alice) Shirley of Indiana and Steve (Cindy) Shirley of Sumter; three stepgrandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by a brother, Kevin Shirley.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Parks Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Garden of Devotion Cemetery, 300 S. Georgetown Hwy, Johnsonville, SC, 29555.
