David R. Fort, 70, of Morristown, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born on Aug. 8, 1944, as the son of Russell V. and Charlotte M. (Murphy) Fort.
He graduated from Hancock Central High School in 1962. David married Clara Jo (Henley) on March 28, 1965.
He was a retired farmer and also worked for Local Union 18 as a heat and frost insulator since 1964. He was a member of Morristown Masonic Lodge #193, Eastern Star Chapter #316 and Morristown Christian Church. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
David is survived by his loving wife, Clara Jo (Henley) Fort of Morristown; daughters Kelli Jo (Dave) Marchello of Greenfield, Karyn K. (Bill) Bollinger of Granger, Indiana, and Andrea D. (Mike) Brandow of Bargersville, Indiana; grandchildren Kelsi, Courtney, Elizabeth, Korey, Erik, and Adam; and a childhood friend, Roy Gene Mohr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell V. and Charlotte M. (Murphy) Fort and daughter Patti Lynn Fort.
Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. U.S. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service beginning with a Masonic service, will take place immediately following the visitation. The Rev. Russ Jarvis will be officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.
