Ira “Dude” W. Bennett, 65, Carthage, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, at St. Vincent Health Hospital in Indianapolis. Ira was born Dec. 18, 1949, to the late Avil R. and Laverne (Stevens) Bennett.
Ira is survived by his daughters Angeleak (James) Abner of Greenfield and Shonda Bennett; son Ira “Bubba” Bennett of Indianapolis; stepchildren Marsha (Kim) Darby of Shelbyville, LeeAnn (Scott) Denney of New Castle, Mark Rowe of Dayton, Ohio and Max Rowe of Rushville; four grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; siblings Avery “Jay” (Bonnie) Bennett of Bedford, Vilis L. Richardson of Franklin, Arvin L (Maryland) Bennett of Noblesville and Velma Crowe of Bargersville.
Ira was preceded in death by his parents; wife Edwina and siblings Merittia Kinnard and Rubylean Bennett.
Friends may call from 12 p.m. until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Avert “Jay” Bennett will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday Feb. 18th 2015, at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
