You’ve probably noticed some changes in our pages lately. We hope you’re as pleased as we are.
The Daily Reporter has gotten a makeover, with brighter colors and bolder design.
We are also excited to announce some changes to our reporting staff. In short, we are putting more writers out in the community reporting the news that matters to you.
We will continue our tradition of being watchdogs of local government, covering important meetings and keeping you in the know about where your tax dollars are going.
We will also dedicate more time to telling the stories of young families and following education trends in Hancock County.
In addition, we are now partnering with the Indianapolis Business Journal to bring you compelling stories about business news that impacts our area.
As a result of our increased reporting resources, we hope to fill your pages with more local content each day.
The Daily Reporter long has been the go-to source for news about Hancock County, and we want that presence to be even bigger.
But we need your help.
We want to hear from you.
The Daily Reporter is a celebration of the things that make Hancock County unique. It is a record of our triumphs and our failures.
Your faces, your photos and your stories are what truly make our product special.
Whoever you are and whatever your background, let me assure you of one thing: There is a place for you in the Daily Reporter.
Tell us what’s happening in your neighborhood. If it has you excited, scared or steaming mad, we want to hear about it.
When people ask me why something wasn’t in the paper, my response is always the same: We can’t report what we don’t know. So talk to us.
This is a partnership between our staff and this community, and we promise to do our part and respond when you reach out to us.
So, how can you get involved? First of all, if you have a news tip, our staff would love to hear it. Don’t be afraid to start a conversation. Not sure of all the facts? Uncomfortable leaving your name? That’s OK. Give us a place to start, and we’ll take it from there.
And never assume you aren’t newsworthy; we might disagree.
Have you or someone you know done something special to help others? Is something exciting going on at your child’s school? Maybe you have a neighbor with a fascinating hobby.
Give us a call and tell us about it. Or stop by. Or send us an email. A quick note to [email protected] connects you to an entire newsroom of willing reporters eager for new ideas.
You can also connect with us via our Facebook page and on Twitter by following @GreenfieldDR. Sports fans, don’t miss what’s happening @GDRsports, including live coverage of games featuring local athletes.
Your favorite family snapshots are welcome, too. Every day, our “Take Your Best Shot” section features a photo of the day submitted by a reader like you.
Birthday parties, family picnics, special events — we want them all. Let us help you preserve a memory in this special way.
We are looking forward to a new chapter at the Daily Reporter, and we welcome you to be part of it.
