Joanna Aiman Frieders, 96, passed away Nov. 30, 2014, in Pendleton. She was born Nov. 29, 1918, in LaFontaine, Ind., to the late Owen Otis & Josephine (Wilson) Brubaker.
Joanna graduated from LaFontaine High School in 1938 and received a teaching certificate from Manchester College. She attended Pendleton Christian Church & St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a member of Tri-Kappa and a Home Extension Club. Joanna worked as a substitute teacher at the Pendleton Schools.
She is survived by her children, Max (Rita) Aiman of Pendleton, Rita (Hugh) Rider of The Villages, Fla., and Jean Godbey of Anderson; sister, Phoebe Thrush of Auburn, Wash.; 6 grandchildren, Ryan (Kecia) Godbey, Rhonda (Chris) Thomas, Kerri Begley, Mark (Emily) Aiman, Kyle Aiman and Brandon (Amber) Aiman; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her husbands, Robert Aiman and Myrle Frieders; son, Ronny Aiman; 2 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Private services will be conducted at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Lahm Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pendleton Ambulance.
