Estelle M. McDonald, 70, of Knightstown, passed away Friday, July 25, 2014, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. She was born October 22, 1943, in Vinnie, Kentucky, the daughter of Willard and Theria Tompkins.
Estelle was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma, homemaker and a friend to many. She managed George Thomas Flower Shop in Knightstown for 18 years. She and her husband Phil have owned and operated McDonald's Bait & Tackle shop in Knightstown for 48 years. Hobbies include traveling with her husband on their motorcycle covering 48 states. She was known for her "Sugar Cookies" which were enjoyed by many and was an avid wine maker.
Survivors include husband, Phil McDonald of Knightstown; daughters, Lisa (Tom) Overleese of Rushville, Marsha (Joe) Carmichael of Palestine, Tx., Caryn (Dennis) Angel of Knightstown; and son, Chad McDonald of Knightstown; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Bryce, Carly, Luke, Hunter, Ben, Trent, Skyler, Broderick, Tori; great grandchild, Dallas; mother, Theria Tompkins of Shirley; sisters, Winifred Tharp of Michigan, Georgiana Childress of Greenfield, Ruth Redmon of Shirley; brothers, Tony Tompkins of Shirley, Ted Tompkins of Markleville, Laramie Tompkins of Shirley, and Herb Tompkins of Wilkinson.
She was preceded in death by her father; and brothers, Darwin, Randy and Bob Tompkins.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Condo and Son Funeral home in Wilkinson with Randy Gross officiating.
