Marie Massey Lynn, 93, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012. She was born Nov. 2, 1919, in Smith Grove, Ky., to William Foster and Criller Demarius Doolin.
Marie retired from Kroger in 1985, after 25 years of service. She worked at P.R. Mallory Co. during WWII. She also worked for R.C.A. and at Dollar Tree. She was a member of Warren Hills Christian Church for 25 years. She has been a member of Greenfield Christian Church since 2007. She was indeed a wonderful person, helping anyone with a meal and a place to stay. She always had a smile and a special hug for a lot of nieces, nephews, children and grandchildren. She will be missed by all.
Her family would like to thank Regency Nursing in Greenfield for the last two years of Marie’s life. They all became like family to Marie and her family. We could never have found a better place for mom’s care. We will never forget the wonderful care and love they showed our mother. Thank you so much!
Surviving to cherish her memory are two sons, George E. (Norma) Massey, Jr., Jerry Massey, seven grandchildren, 14 great – grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husbands, George E. Massey, Sr. and Robert Lynn; son, Jeffery Dale Lynn; and 13 siblings.
Friends may visit with Marie’s family from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday Nov. 29, 2012. The funeral service being held at 11 a.m on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Flanner and Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, Ind.
