Edna M. Couch, 96, of Knightstown, passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at Springhurst Health Campus in Greenfield. She was born Sept. 28, 1916, in Bath County, Ky. and was the daughter of Robert and Alfie (Swanigan) Welch.
Her summer time hobby was gardening and she canned large amounts of vegetables. She also grew many varieties of flowers. Her winter hobby was quilting and she made beautiful quilts. She was a natural musician and played the piano and organ for her church in her younger years.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Bill (Judy) Couch of New Castle, James (Ruth) Couch of Knightstown, Phyllis (Lester) Henderson of Frankfort, and Brenda Couch of Knightstown; grandchildren, Donald Couch of Fla., Tony Couch of Marion, Elvis Couch of Knightstown, Teresa Couch of Knightstown, Jay Couch of New Castle, Stacey Couch of Pendleton, Michael Couch of Knightstown, David (Kathleen) Henderson of Lafayette, Sally (Jay) Casey of Lafayette; eight great -grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Ada Couch of Knightstown; and a sister, Eldean Gorman of Greenfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Couch; a son, Bob Couch; grandson, Curtis Couch; sisters, Lillie Daniels, Anna Downs, and Kathleen Bashford.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Pastor Randy Gross officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. prior to the service.
