Charles E. Borden, 80, of Fortville passed away Saturday night June 9, 2012, at his residence. He was born Oct. 23, 1931 in Connersville, Ind. to the late Harry E. and Elizabeth M. (Groce) Borden.
He was a graduate of Connersville High School, served in the Army and retired in 2008 as a self-employed truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Bethel A. (Mannin) Borden of Fortville, whom he married on November 29, 1964; son, Charles E. Borden II of Greenfield; daughters, Elizabeth Ann Borden of Greenfield, Ann Marie (Patrick) Zakaria of Pittsboro, NC; adopted daughter, Debbie (Bryan) Magee of Indianapolis; sister, Evelyn Colestock of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Christopher Zakaria, Ashley Borden, Emily Creed, Gregory Zakaria, Jacob Creed, Nicholas Zakaria; and a niece, Tami Murphy of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday June 14, 2012, at Brookeville Road Community Church with Pastor Hubert Nolan officiating. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
