Loyal Whitson, 94, of Greenfield, passed away Monday June 4, 2012, at Morristown Manor. Born on February 4, 1918, in Dexter, Mo., he was the son of Thomas Jordan and Della Iona (Lee) Whitson.
Loyal married Viola Florena Dennis on April 15, 1939, and worked as a delivery truck driver at Railway Express Agency. Loyal enjoyed reading and gardening.
Surviving him are his sons; David (MaryLynn) Whitson of Grand Rapids, MI., and Dennis (Patricia) Whitson of New Palestine; sister, Freda Gail Waller; grandchildren, Christopher Whitson, Kimberly Morehead, Michelle Fox, Krista Whitson, and Jennifer Whitson; and great-grandchildren, Phillip Kropp, Amber Whitson, Timothy Whitson, Joshua Morehead, Brian Fox, Casey Fox, Sean Fox, Eva Cragnolino, Felix Cragnolino, Luca Cragnolino, Elena Ledesma, and Sofia Ledesma.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Viola; parents; and seven siblings.
A memorial service will be held for Mr. Whitson on July 21, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Greenfield.
