Walter A. Boling, 87, a resident of Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Brandywine Golden Living in Greenfield. He was born on March 5, 1925, in Greensburg, Ind., to the late Clarence E. and Lula (Wise) Boling.
He served in the Army in WWII, retired from Detroit Diesel Allison as a machinist and loved to travel with his wife.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathy (John) Baughman of Cincinnati; sons, Bruce (Nancy) Boling of Indianapolis and Phil Boling of Greenwood; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Charlotte Boling, who passed away in 2011; sisters, Betty McDaniel and Lilian Zimmerman; and brother, Harold Boling.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Friday, May 25, 2012, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, Greenfield. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
