Billie “Bill” Aker, 78, formerly of Carthage/Rush County, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2012, at Westminster Health Care in Clarksville.
He was the founder of Chlorination Company Inc., a member of Christ Community Church of the Nazarene in New Albany, a private pilot and had a strong passion for country music.
Surviving him are his wife, Beverly Aker of Sellersburg, Ind.; sons, Gary Aker of Clarksville, Ind., Steven (Debbie) Aker of Salem, Ind., Scott (Jodi) Aker of Clayton, NC.; brothers, Clifford Aker of Indianapolis, and Gene Aker of Memphis, Tenn.; sisters, Sally Smith of Knightstown, and Betty Daniels of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Leslie Faas and Carrie Franklin; and two Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 21, 2012, at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg, Ind., and anytime after 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, until the time of service on Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday with entombment to follow at Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
