Steven “Rex” Kruge

Steven “Rex” Kruge, 56, of Indianapolis, passed away on May 12, 2012. Born on September 27, 1955, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Carl David Howell Kruge and Ruth Maxine (McGuire) Kruge Deerberg.

Rex graduated from Warren Central High School in 1972 and worked in administration at Conrail Railroad. Rex was an athlete in high school and loved genealogy and history. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends and camping and always had a funny line. Rex was a member of Lighthouse Community Church in Indianapolis.

Surviving him are his daughter, Emily (Dane) Lantz of New Palestine; siblings, Sandy (Donald) Ingram of Bradenton, Fla., Peg (Bob) Ingram of New Palestine, Susanne (Jerry) Ingram of Naples, Fla., and Sheri (David) Hart of Greenfield; grandchildren, Ava, Brady, and Cade Lantz; and numerous extended family members.

Preceding him in death were his parents; son, David Kruge in 2007; and two brothers, Larry David Kruge and Brian Keith Kruge.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the mortuary. Burial will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery.
