Matthew “Matt” Hall, 41, passed away on May 9, 2012, at his residence in Fountaintown. Born on April 19, 1971, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Jim and Carmen (Swain) Hall.
Matt attended Indiana State University and worked for the Greenfield City Police and the Hancock County and Marion County Sheriff’s Department as a police officer for many years. Additionally, he was the owner of Outdoor Management, Inc.
Matt was a member of the Carrolton United Methodist Church and actively attended Brookville Road Community Church in New Palestine. He was also a member of the New Palestine Masonic lodge. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting and four wheelers. He also loved spending time with his children, riding his motorcycle, and Legend racing. Additionally, Matt was a mini marathon participant for ten years.
Surviving him are his wife, Michelle Hall of Fountaintown; parents, Jim and Carmen Hall of Greenfield; children, Cierra Hall of Greenfield, Jesi Hall of Fountaintown, and Joey Hall of Fountaintown; sister, Wendi Hall of Greenfield; grandmother, Thelma Swain of Indianapolis; uncles, Mark Swain of Indianapolis and Deryl Swain of New Palestine; aunt, Peggy Karnes of Knightstown; and numerous cousins.
Preceding him in death were his daughter, Miranda Hall; and grandparents, Wendell Swain and Marvin and Marcella Hall.
Visitation will be from 2 until 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. A celebration of Matt’s life will take place on Monday, May 14, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the mortuary. Reverend Paul Romoser will be officiating. Burial will take place at New Palestine Cemetery.
