Bettie Jean Pope, 73, a resident of Laurel, Indiana died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Heritage House of Connersville. She was born Nov. 10, 1938, to the late Kenneth Robert and Elizabeth Ellen (Rockwell) Lee.
She is survived by her husband, Porter Pope; daughters, Jeannie (Donald) Moore of Rushville, Peggy (Michael) Ruby of Rushville, Robin D. (Tony) Garrett of Apex, N.C., Carla Lee Meece of Rushville, Tina Kathleen Meece of Shelbyville; step-son, Alan (Johnna) Higgins of Cumberland; brothers Richard Lee of Tenn., Philip Steven Lee of Anchorage, AK; sister, Emily Joan (Mack) Hunter of Indianapolis; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and baby girl, Rose Pope.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield. Burial will be at a later date. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
