David Lopez, 71, of Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. He was born on Jan. 10, 1941, to Leonardo Garcia and Felipa Lopez in Edinburg, Texas.
David retired in 2001, after being a buyer for Chrysler for 38 years. During his employment with Chrysler, he worked in the Indianapolis, Mexico, Detroit & Kokomo market areas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Lakeview Wesleyan Church in Noblesville and the Noblesville Gideon Chapter. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, NY Yankees & NASCAR; and loved being with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Carolyn Lopez; daughter, Kelly (Dennis) Lopez Dillon; sons, Tracy (Mayela) Lopez and Dean (Thekla) McCoy; daughter, Kelly (Dan) Cook; two brothers, José Garcia and Manuel Garcia; three sisters, Alejandrina Garcia, Yolanda Redington and Sandra Quintanilla; and 14 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Humberto Garcia; and a sister, Andrea Araguz.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Lakeview Wesleyan Church, 396 Park Street in Noblesville. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 11, 2012, at the church with Dr. Rich Schenk officiating. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
