George Callahan, of Greenfield, entered Heaven on Sunday, May 6, 2012. He was born on September 27, 1928, to Bill and Betty (Tussey) Callahan. He loved God, his family, and his country.

George was a former pastor and evangelist and spent the best years of his life spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. He proudly served in the Army from 1952-1954 and was stationed in Germany. He retired from Dana Corporation in Richmond, Ind., after 36 years. George loved gardening and nature and was a member of Kokomo Christian Heritage Worship Center.

George recently celebrated 63 wonderful years with the love of his life, Hazel (Isaacs) Callahan. He is also survived by daughters, Marcy Callahan and Darlene Callahan; and Bob Ravencraft, his special working buddy. In addition, he is survived by his brothers, Clyde, Billy, Harold, and Raleigh; sisters, Freda Wyatt and Edith Parker; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, J.R. and Perry; and sisters, Bernice, Ethyl, Dorothy, and Irene.

Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield. Visitation will take place from noon until the time of the service.
