Frances Louise Perkins Leatham DeLong, 85, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2012, in Milan, Ind., where she was a resident at Ripley Crossing. Frances was born on Oct. 7, 1926, in Millville, Ohio to Ina and Luke Perkins.
Frances graduated from Western Hills High School, in Cincinnati, in 1944. Upon graduation, Frances worked at Procter and Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio, until her retirement in 1983, after 34 years of service. Frances worked as a telephone switchboard operator and administrative assistant at Procter and Gamble. Frances enjoyed traveling. She particularly enjoyed her trips to Las Vegas, New York City, Chicago, Mammoth Cave, and Niagara Falls with her family. She enjoyed a cruise to Alaska and vacationing in Florida and the Caribbean. She was a great decorator and enjoyed changing her home as the seasons changed and for holidays. Christmas was her favorite holiday to celebrate by decorating her home. Frances also enjoyed antique hunting with her friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter, Jo (Jody) Anne (Leatham)
Krieger from Fountaintown, Ind.; granddaughter, Sheri (Krieger) Kennerk, and grandson, Shawn Parker, both from Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest (Pete) Leatham and Samuel DeLong – both veterans of World War II.
