Gilbert “Gib” J. Steurer, 85, of Knightstown, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born July 1, 1926, in New Castle, the son of Emerson J. and Hazel (Thorpe) Steurer.
He is survived by his children, Nancy Puckett of Noblesville, Carol Stutsman of Knightstown, Shirley (Dave) Farris of Indianapolis, John Steurer of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Raymond Steurer.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 29, 2012, at the Knightstown Friends Church with Reverend Mervin Kilmer officiating. Military rites will follow at the Garden of Memories Veterans Memorial.
