Philip Neil Jones, 88, of New Palestine, passed away at his home on April 11, 2012. He was the son of Alfonso “Frank” Draper-Jones and Frances (Boring) Jones and born in Manitoba, Canada. He was married to Frances Todd Jones.

He and his wife, and their three older daughters moved to New Palestine in 1955. He was a glazier and a carpenter, and worked as an independent contractor until his retirement. Neil had been an active member in the community serving on several councils and boards of both the town and church and was a member of the New Palestine Masonic Lodge and New Palestine United Church.

He is survived by his daughters, Lauren (Jim) Claypool of Ill., Marie (Tim) Deaton of Fla., Carolyn (Tom) Black of Ind.; two sisters, Jean Shipp and Madge Highfield both of British Columbia, Canada; four grandchildren, Tom Claypool, Alex, Sarah and Cate Black.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother; wife; daughter, Jean Charlotte Howard; son, Timothy E. Jones; and brother, Max Draper.

A Memorial Celebratory service will be at 10:30 a.m. on April 21, 2012, at New Palestine United Church, 15 E. Main St.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either the New Palestine United Church Missions (in memory of Neil Jones) or the Hancock Regional Hospice, 801 N.
