Philip E. “Phil” Ahrendt, 60, of Knightstown, died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 15, 2012, in Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born on Jan. 15, 1952, in Berea, Ohio, son of the late Richard Paul and Virginia Clara (Valley) Ahrendt.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Lucy Ahrendt of Knightstown, whom he married on May 25, 1972; two sons, Philip E. Ahrendt Jr. (Angel Threet), and Daniel Paul Ahrendt Sr., both of Knightstown; six grandchildren; sister, Vicki (Dave) DesRuisseaux of Mesa, Ariz.; one niece; a brother, Richard (Jule Drown) Ahrendt of Tucson, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Paul and Virginia Clara (Valley) Ahrendt.
Friends may call from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. The service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Danny Shelton officiating. At Phil’s request, casual dress is encouraged.
