Thelma E. “Sue” Wittig, 82, of Kokomo passed away at 12:30 a.m. on Friday, April 13, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital. Sue was born on March 11, 1930, in Powell Co., Ky., to the late Virgil Rogers and Ella Jayne Carver (Smith).
Her marriage to William J. Wittig, whom survives, was on July 16, 1950, in Peru, Ind. She was a member of Grace Community Foursquare Church, was involved in Nursing Home Ministries, Womens Aglow, Prison Ministries, and Girl Scouts. She was a mom to all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, William J. Wittig; son, Dr. Gregory J. (Karen) Wittig; daughters, Cindy J.(Chuck) Wood, Pam M. (Bob) Campbell, Penny S. (Scott) Wenger, and Amy Hildreth; two special cousins, Shirley Miller and Nellie Adams; grandchildren, Travis, Sean, and Troy Heflin, Ryan and Chris Wittig, Elizabeth Campbell-Mack, Dr. Rachel Campbell, Abby Campbell, Jessica Wenger-Caine, Jordan, Seth, and Bethany Wenger, Bob Auth, and Bert Hildreth; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7p.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 South Main Street. Services will be at 11a.m. on Monday, April 16, 2012, at the Mortuary, with Pastor Mike Rush officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Peru, Ind.
