Betty Lou Hume Luttrell, 76, lost her battle to Primary Peritoneal Cancer on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Augustana Mercy Health Care Center in Moose Lake, Minnesota. She was born Nov. 30, 1935, in Cokato, Minnesota, the daughter of the late Bessie Porter Hume Boniarczyk and Howard Chester Hume.
She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Bonnie Jean Hume Blood; and stepfather, Joe Boniarczyk.
She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Milton J. Luttrell Jr., a guitar-picking farm boy from Kentucky; children, Leanne Franke (Eddy) of Fortville, Milton J. Luttrell III (Valerie) of Barnum and Norman Luttrell (Korbi) of Rush City; nine grandchildren; 3 1/2 great-grandchildren; and brother, Chester Hume (Irene); sister-in-law, Narcissus Luttrell; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 13, 2012, at United Presbyterian Church of Willow River, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure or to St. Croix Hospice, 160 N Birch Ave., Cambridge, MN 55008.
