Ruth L. Macy, 103, of Hudson, Florida and former resident of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Hudson, Fla. She was born on December 17, 1908, in Brandywine Township, Shelby County, Indiana to the late William and Fannie (Cobler) DeCoursey.

Ruth was an accounting clerk with the Department of Defense at Fort Benjamin Harrison for 21 years, a housewife and mother. She graduated from Shelbyville High School and attended Curry’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Ruth was a former member of the Clover Reading Club, Eastern Star and the Red Hat Society.

She is survived by sons; Thomas D. Macy of Greenfield, Roger L. Macy of Bloomington; daughters, Patricia A. Butler, Kingdom City, Missouri, Betty L. Brummett, Hudson, Fla.; 14 Grandchildren; 29 Great Grandchildren; and 5 Great Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Earl R. Macy; brothers, Melvin, Vernon, Everson; sisters, Mamie Cooper and Josephine Fry.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday, March 31, 2012, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
